Helen delivers conference speeches and powerful training to professionals and carers in the adoption and fostering world for organisations and independently. She offers both bespoke and 'packages' training. Even with large groups (100+) all are delivered with an interactive workshop style to facilitate maximum learning for participants who leave with useful strategies, fresh learnings and implementable actions and signposts to further resources. Trauma Triggered Behaviour on Looked After & Adopted Children: Impact on Children and their Carers a one day Workshop has been delivered twice in partnership with BAAF in Wales. Further trainings are planned nationally including London in December 2011.The quotes and feedback below are from the Newport workshop on 14 July 2011. She has kept the training upbeat and interesting.” “Fantastic trainer, could have listened and learned forever – this is what we need; easy to understand information. Will be purchasing your books and ensuring people know about your resources. Thank you! - Course on re-parenting techniques would be helpful.” “Interesting training, many topics covered, left me wanting to find out more and to try tools described / guidance given with young people and carers.” “This training has been extremely powerful in terms of reflecting on my profession and practice; I feel this training should be compulsory for all foster carers and adopters and it should also be part of ‘Skills to Foster’ during / before assessment process. Excellent training.” "Just to let you know I have used a suggestion from yesterdays training already in creating a time line for a young persons day to day routines, previously I have created a storyboard with visual aids to help him prepare for school but this will help him to have an understanding of his daily routine." |
