What will I get from coaching? Time and space for you, just you. Clarity. Someone who will really listen to what you say at a deep level, who will enquire and gently prod to help you unravel complex issues. Someone you can trust. A professional totally focused on your agenda. How will this help me get to where I want to be - even if I dont know where that is? Because by becoming clear about your values, ie what really matters to you, you'll be clearer about the road ahead and which direction to take at lifes crossroads. Will coaching challenge me? Yes, gently and supportively. If you want a friendly two way conversation, then chat to a friend. If you want a dialogue totally focussed on you, with answers, options and transformation, employ a Coach. Absolutely anything? Yes, anything that you want to explore, improve, change, modify, face, resolve or honour in a totally confidential, safe and supportive way . What sorts of issues have you dealt with? Life/work balance is a common theme; improving relationships at home and in work; clarifying your vision and purpose in life; career changes; dilemmas; developing confidence; setting goals - to name just a few. Helen also deals with health and 'heavy issues' arises from abuse, violence and trauma. Do you have the answers? No. Coaching presupposes that the client has all the answers, the Coach simply asks a good question at the right time to elicit them. The client is the expert who makes the decisions, not the Coach. The expertise of the Coach lies in deep listening, pattern recognition and powerful questions. How does the coaching relationship develop? It's an alliance between us, directed by the client. As it progresses the client learns to coach themselves, becomes more curious and skilful at asking themselves questions, designing strategies and formulating spectacular satisfying outcomes. The aim of the Coach is to make themselves redundant, by empowering the client; it is not a dependant relationship which carries on for years. What else should I ask? What else do you want to know? Just ask. |
